Safety Precautions
SAFETY AND GENERAL INFORMATION: For your safety, read, understand, and follow the information provided with and on this device before using. The owner and/or operator shall have an understanding of the device, its operating characteristics and safety operating instructions before operating the equipment. The owner and/or operator shall be aware that use and repair of this product may require special skills and knowledge. Instructions and safety information shall be read to and discussed with the operator in the operator’s native language, making sure that the operator comprehends their contents, before use of this equipment is authorized. If any doubt exists as to the safe and proper use of this device, remove from service immediately. Inspect before each use.
Do not use if abnormal conditions such as cracked welds, damaged, loose or missing parts are noted. Any equipment that appears damaged in any way, is found to be worn, or operates abnormally shall be removed from service until repaired. If the equipment has been or is suspected to have been subjected to an abnormal load or shock, immediately discontinue use until inspected by a factory authorized repair facility (contact distributor or manufacturer for list of authorized repair facilities). It is recommended that an annual inspection be made by an authorized repair facility. Labels and Operator’s Manuals are available from the manufacturer.
The KingCart is designed to safely transport a working load of up to 2,000lbs(900Kg), however precautions need to be excercised to handle and/or avoid impact forces. Impacts, or sudden jarring will multiply the forces on key structural KingCart components. The KingCart has been designed with redundancy, but unnecessary stresses should be avoided when possible as to not compromise the KingCart’s function as well as prevent long term component failure. The KingCart comes with multiple anchoring attachment points designed to be used to aid in the functionality of the cart during transport and reduce unnecessary stress on the system’s key components.
It is also recommended to reduce unnecessary stress to key structural components by uniting the rolling assemblies together by clamping a “span bar” between both rolling assemblies. Important Safety Precautions

Safe work practices! Be aware of the “Fall Shadow” and do not enter these areas as injury or death can result in the event of product failure.

Pre-plan work to identify hazards and obstacles that will be encountered during transport and how the KingCart may need to be adjusted during transport.

If rotation of the Gantry is utilized during transport and installation, be sure to familiarize yourself with the center of mass and how it may relocate during rotation to avoid instability of the KingCart while under load.

Develop and implement safe workload handling procedures for transporting, loading and unloading workloads during the transport, delivery, and installation process.

Only use mechanical handling equipment (Fasteners, Rachet Straps, Clamps, etc.) appropriate for their designed task and within their designed limitations.

Inspect material handling equipment before use to assure that it is in good condition. Defective equipment must be immediately reported and repaired or replaced before use.

Instruct and train employees on the proper material handling procedures.

Ensure that employees follow safe workload handing procedures as well as a basic understanding of rigging and securing of loads.

Avoid impact to the rolling system while transporting under load. Where possible use ramps to ease lateral impacts that might cause sudden stops or “jerks” to the KingCart system. It is also recommended to clamp a lower “span bar” between both rolling assemblies during transport across uneven surfaces.

Aligning the combined center of mass for both the gantry and workpiece should be as close to the pivot point axis as possible for effortless rotation.

It is recommended to use ratcheting tie down straps to aid in the axial rotation of the gantry and hold in place to prevent uncontrolled movement or rotation in the event the workpiece being clamped to the gantry has a center of mass that is not in line with the pivot axis.

Use of a ratcheting tie down straps can also aid in relieving the pressure of the axis sprocket on the pull pin during engagement in order to lock/unlock the rotational position of the gantry.

The center of mass of the working load should not extend past the critical tipping point of the outermost casters (static or during transportation) without use of the outriggers. The outriggers provide additional stability and should not be extended without engagement of the thumbscrew while within their guide tubes. If the locking thumbscrew does not engage the outrigger posts, the outriggers are overextended and are not adequate for off center loading.

The center of mass for the work piece should not extend past the variable midway point of the extended outrigger. The midway point is the center point between the end of the Rolling.

Be sure the outriggers are inserted into the guide tubes at least 6”. The thumb screw located a top the guide tube should be tightened down to prevent the outriggers from sliding.
